So I’ve been decorating our village again and making quite a racket in the process. At least digitally. All of these visual layers are superimposed on photos of houses that are mostly in the same lane and all with the owners’ consent. Some involve green screen technology, others just the application of various off-the-shelf effects, manipulated to fit the image. Visible only via the Artivive app and having no physical effect on the buildings themselves, it’s a trial run for asking children living in the lane to make paintings or drawings for next year’s display. All the images are family-friendly and all the householders approved their display before it went public.
The final video comprises short clips of each one, brought together into one sequence to remind our MP that we still have no reliable phone signal in the village. This time, the appeal is aesthetic rather than alarmingly consequential.
Number Three that isn’t number Three!
