Resistance

After manipulating a photo in PhotoDirector using an abstract template, I’ve moved on to make the shapes in pencil on A1 card. This is the view down the back garden and the figure is my shadow while I was taking the photo although it looks much more sinister when stylised.

I like the blue cast to this but it’s due to the evening light so it’ll be gone tomorrow.

LED lights and I’m less happy with the sky. I think the flat white worked better. Tomorrow I’ll try to flatten that and restore the white with the pencil outlines. I’d really like the blue cast back though! Blue wash maybe, via a few test patches.

Sandpapered and repainted clouds, blue wash to the fences and foliage, and some watercolour pencil outlines. I like that the shadow looks sinister, that the clouds look like rocks or whales, that the table seems as though it might run off at any moment and has an air of Big Dog about it, and that the windows are unblinking. I’m not sure I’ll ever look at this part of the garden the same way again!
