Sketching with cats outdoors

Suddenly it isn’t winter any more and it became possible to take my A3 sketchbook outside. Suitable chair, equipment on a table to one side, and a landscape view of the garden. I was going old school with charcoal. Then this happened:

Luckily, I’d found a quiet moment earlier to make buttercups with pencil and ink, but an attempt at newts went much the same way as the landscape.

13th June. I’m giving acrylics a try now, applying directly onto the sketches and making an effort not to overdo anything. I have all six on the go at once, two on the easel and four stuck to the windows.

White, muted in places, and copper.

This is actually how I read and also watch TV – between pairs of ears, around tails, or sometimes behind my own hand if a fight breaks out. In a thunderstorm, it can get quite crowded.

Tidied up.

Made in Procreate, this has crashed everything else so far and neither PowerDirector nor YouTube have been able to handle it. It’s my first animated GIF and here it is, animating. YouTube tutorials are marvellous things.

20th June. This video was made using screen capture in Procreate with some resizing in FilmoraPro and editing in PowerDirector. Resolution is a bit iffy!
